What will we discuss?

Ecommerce as we know it today has customers under the magnifying glass: Each click tracked, each movement spied upon, mostly without proper consent or any at all. The intention is clear — predicting what the customer wants before the customer knows it. But people are increasingly concerned about massive data breaches and data brokers’ questionable practices.

Studies like the Retail Trust IndexMcKinsey Digital Trust Survey, and Deloitte's Four Factors of Trust all show that people demand higher protection across the board: from governments, the tech industry, and their favourite online shops and websites.

Respecting and providing data security to customers is now paramount to moving forward in the New Age of Ethical Commerce. With the latest developments in AI and Machine Learning and the vast opportunities that Data Science and prediction models offer, personal data requires an extra layer of protection. Providing this security and ensuring data privacy with privacy-enhancing technologies will help brands regain consumers’ trust and allow us to research and innovate in this era of transformation.
